I’m one of the Partners in Sensei Learning and Performance. I specialise in Training Needs Analysis; Training for Trainers; IT Training; Induction Training; Social Media; Business and Technical Writing; Customer Service; and Personal and Professional Development (particularly Assertiveness).

Why I Do What I Do

At my core, I’m an educator.  That translates into many areas of my work.  Some days, I could be rewriting an organisation’s complaints system and communicating it to staff.  Others, I might be constructing software installation procedures in Plain English. When it comes to training, coaching and writing, I love making complicated things simple.  This ranges from communication and management skills to spreadsheets to social media marketing.  I’m inventing a new word, just for me: Explicator.  (Actually, it’s not a new word!)

Stuff I think, write and rant about

I’m happy to be asked to speak on these topics:

  • Slaying Fear, Obligation and Guilt wherever I go.  Assertiveness and Confidence training is probably one of the best uses of my time and yours.
  • Conspiring with Allen to improve the standard of Customer Service in Northern Ireland businesses, by Jedi mind tricks if necessary.  (Ask Allen about this one.  He’s partial to constructing professional development workshops from his vast knowledge of superheroes and entire scripts of Sci-Fi movies.)
  • Edging my way into the traditional workplace and prising the old ways apart by nothing other than subterfuge.
  • Fighting a one-woman mission to improve the English language.  I now have the ScribeTribe, to join the quest.
