What is Technical Writing?
Technical Writing is the production of technical documentation; help files; tooltips and labels; together with screenshots and diagrams for inclusion in the offline and online documentation to accompany a range of products.
What are the advantages of hiring a Technical Writer?
- Our areas of subject expertise include financial services, IT, web technologies, writing, training and education.
- We use both straightforward technologies (such as Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat) for smaller projects, and single-sourcing software (such as Robohelp and AuthorIt) for more involved contracts. We are familiar with the Agile project management environment, remote working.
- We create templates and a house-style for all documentation. Alternatively, we work within existing guidelines. Adhering to The Plain English Campaign, Strunk and Whyte, and The Chicago Manual of Style, our style is characterised by clarity, consistency and conciseness.
- Our range of output includes technical guides and help for offline and online use; workflows and procedures; technical diagrams and charts; screenshots; instructional videos; wikis; and indexes.
- We draw from a pool of associates with varying expertise, when the project requires it.
